Pune: 8.50 lakh books have been sold in Pune Book Festival organized by National Book Trust. As many as 4.5 lakh citizens visited the festival and supported the movement to promote reading culture. Mahatsava coordinator Rajesh Pandey informed that there was a financial turnover of around 11 crores from the sale of books in the festival.
The Pune Book Festival concluded on Sunday from December 16 to 24 at the Fergusson College Grounds. On this occasion, Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Patil, actor Praveen Tarde, President of NBT Milind Marathe, Vice-Chancellor Dr. Suresh Gosavi, Pune Municipal Corporation Additional Commissioner Vikas Dhakne and other dignitaries were present.
School and college students were the largest number of visitors to the festival and purchase of books. On the last day of Mahaetsva (Sunday) dt. On the 24th, Pune residents thronged the stalls to buy books.
Meanwhile, an international book festival will be held at Pragati Maidan in Delhi from February 7 to 10. There will be a gallery of Pune Book Festival in this festival. Information about Pune Book Festival will be given from this hall. Similarly, NBT President Milind Marathe informed that necessary steps will be taken for the dissemination and promotion of Pune Book Festival.
Book Festival Next Year Too
